Hi, I'm Jalisa Williams, a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in New Jersey. I believe therapy should be more than simply talking about what's wrong. It should be a space where you feel genuinely heard and understood while also developing practical tools that can help you move forward.
I work with adults ages 18 and older who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, emotional challenges, or difficulty navigating life's demands. My approach is warm, direct, collaborative, and solution-focused. I meet clients where they are while helping them recognize patterns, build on their strengths, and develop healthier ways of thinking, coping, and responding to challenges.
I believe therapy works best as a genuine partnership. I'll listen closely and provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment, but I also won't shy away from gently challenging thoughts or patterns that may be getting in the way of your growth.
My work is primarily grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and incorporates Strength-Based and Solution-Focused approaches. Together, we'll identify what's important to you, establish meaningful goals, and develop strategies you can begin using in your everyday life.
My therapy style is:
• Warm and supportive
• Direct when appropriate
• Collaborative
• Strengths-based
• Solution-focused
• Evidence-informed
• Goal-oriented
• Culturally responsive
• Practical and skill-focused
I believe you bring valuable strengths, experiences, and insight into therapy. My role is to help you recognize and build upon those strengths while providing additional strategies that can help you reach your goals.

I support clients experiencing concerns such as:
• Anxiety
• Depression

What Can Therapy Help Me Accomplish?
Depending on your individual needs and goals, therapy may help you:
• Better understand your emotions
• Manage symptoms of anxiety and depression
• Recognize unhelpful thinking patterns
• Develop healthier coping strategies
• Improve problem-solving skills
• Build confidence
• Recognize and use your strengths

• Establish realistic and meaningful goals
• Increase self-awareness
• Create healthier patterns
• Feel more empowered when navigating challenges
My goal isn't simply for you to feel better in the moment. I want you to feel understood, recognize your strengths, develop greater confidence in managing life's challenges, and leave therapy with skills that continue working for you outside of our sessions. I also recognize that culture, identity, values, and spirituality can play important roles in emotional well-being. Clients who would like spirituality incorporated into their therapeutic experience are welcome to explore it as part of our work together.
